英国大学面试主要在考察什么？
从上述剑桥大学的面试例题里，可以发现作为英国大学申请中不容忽视的一环，面试涉及到的问题类型各种各样，有些问题甚至没有一个准确的答案。
那招生官为什么还要这样提问呢？原因有三。
一是全面了解学生的综合素质。
面试的过程不仅仅考察学生的英语口语能力，还包括思考问题的能力、表述的逻辑性和简洁性，个人观点和价值观等诸多方面。学生能不能用流利而简洁的语言清楚的表达自己并彰显特质，这对于最终的录取结果有很大的影响。
二是核实学生的信息与申请材料是否有出入。
在录取过程中，面试官往往会先对申请材料进行审核，然后对他们感兴趣的申请者发放面试通知。这种面试叫做邀请类面试，邀请类面试要比一般面试深入得多。校方面试人在面试之前已经对申请人的材料仔细阅读和研究过。他们往往对申请材料中的某些细节有兴趣，或者对材料中的某些部分存在疑点需要核实。
三是向学生介绍学校，明确学生对学校的真正兴趣。
去哪所大学读书是一个双向选择的过程，优秀的学生往往会收到不止一份录取Offer。对于一个大学而言，如果它做出一个录取的决定，但该学生最终却没有选择这个学校，这将会影响该校的排名。因此，很多录取官在发出最后决定前，都会试图去向申请人介绍自己的学校，并且会考察学生对学校的认识和对学校的热爱程度。
而上述这些内容，又会和候选人其他的申请材料相互印证，一次来判断学生是否达到了录取门槛。
英国名校申请需要满足的那些条件
和美国大学申请类似，英国申请同学们需要达到的门槛包括硬性条件和软性条件两方面。硬性条件包括个人学术成绩和语言能力，软性条件则诸如文书、推荐信、面试、竞赛实习等。
也就是说，硬性条件主要是学校对学生学术实力的考核，无论是语言成绩、标化成绩、在校课程，还是后面的笔试成绩表现，英国大学希望借此来确定申请学生是否有足够的学习能力来应对接下来高强度的大学课程。
软性条件则是大学要求学生提交的其他申请材料。学校希望看到申请生在学习之外的闪光点，是否对自己有规划，具有独立思考能力，而不是一个只会学习、只会考试的机器。
软性条件中最重要的就是学生个人文书，按照UCAS的要求，每个学生需要提交约4k字符的PS。申请生可以借此让学校知道自己的“过人之处”。
事实上，所有的英国大学官网都会明确给出各个专业的具体申请条件，而且不同专业、不同学院要求的分数和参考科目都稍有差异，申请条件每年都可能会有细微之处的调整。
